On Chickens and Things

There was another musing I was going to post this week, except all of that can wait because...

WE GOT CHICKENS!!!!

Meet the girls! Lucille (red), Rubylene, and Rubymay!

We have these wonderful friends who are goofy and lovely in all the right ways. They're expecting (hello, Little Bean!) and offered to give us their chickens as their life is about to become a little more chaotic and cute.

Of course we said YES! And now today, our lives just got significantly cuter. I'm smitten and I don't care who knows.

He's a catch for embracing new adventures. Plus check out that great fence he built us!

Although, Magnolia is less smitten. She can't decide if she loves them or is terrified.

While he was showing some of our neighbors how we will care for the chickens, William discovered our first egg!

We're so excited to share this with our neighbor kids, to let them paint the coop (Help me, Jesus), and to share our eggs!

We positioned the coop outside our office windows, so as I type this, William is leading a group of 4 boys out of the run and my heart may explode. Thanks so much to Sarah and Spencer for entrusting us with your girls! And to Timothy and Ryan for helping with the move.
